How to Find Workout Motivation after a Holiday

Holiday meals can be hearty and wondrous. Yet, can sometimes, be compromising on our fitness goals.

It can be especially difficult to navigate holiday meals when you’re making positive progress. The social pressure, the questions, the sweet potato casserole...oh the sweet potato casserole.

Here is a 3-step plan to get your fitness and self-care goals back on track.

  1. Remember Your (Wh)Y. It's important that you stay deeply connected to your why. Remember why you first decided to make the change. If you've lost connection to that why, take some time to think about it. Take a walk or speak to someone encouraging who can help you rediscover it. Write it down. Read it every day, if you must. And remain committed to it.

  2. Take Self-Care Inventory. How do you feel? It's OK if you haven't quite made it to where you desire to be. It’s important to be honest with yourself. Understand, the transformation doesn't happen overnight. Be patient with your process and progress. And know, with determination, persistence, and the right help you'll get there.

  3. Find Accountability When you involve other people in your goals, you’re more likely to stick to them. This is backed by Psychology Today. Besides, why wouldn't you want to be around inspiring, dedicated people with similar goals?
